Vegeta dragon ball z wallpaper12/25/2023 ![]() ![]() I like to think he also learned more martial arts moves that would have put Vegeta down very, very quickly - but by this point, punches could level mountains, making fancy moves a non-factor, so we never see the fruits of his labor outside of SSJ3.Goku and Vegeta Became Parallel Characters But we do know he became significantly stronger. In the manga, we never actually see him do this. When telling his friends not to wish him back at the end of Cell, Goku mentions he'll be training with "legendary martial artists" in Otherworld. The only time I can see Goku being the clear-cut winner would be during the Buu arc, and you have to use a tiny bit of head-canon for this. Had they fought again before Buu, with no tail/oozaru form to rely on (and gravity trianing/zenkai being a non-factor), Goku would probably have still won.but barely. Since kaioken is a technique, it's still a viable option with this scenario. Their power was close to equal once the kaioken came into play - it was Goku's ignorance of the oozaru form and Vegeta's proficiency with it that turned the tables. I think OP is just saying that Goku would be victorious if powerscaling/power levels were taken off the table, which seems to be how you interpreted it, too.īased on OP's hypothetical, Goku would have lost his first fight with Vegeta. In other words, even taking power out of the equation, no amount of fancy footwork or quick handwork is going to make up the difference between their philosophies, which powers their fighting styles. He would need to change not just the way he approaches fights, but his entire philosophy. ![]() Learning martial arts, which is technique-based, won't remedy this - unless he learns martial arts as a lifestyle and not just for the purpose of combat. So even though he may train harder than Goku, he doesn't train as effectively. Vegeta doesn't know how to relax and loves winning more than learning, and in DBS, finally comes to terms with relaxation just not being a part of his personality. He rests as much as he trains, and believes in drawn out fights that will show him how much more he has to learn. Remember, Goku lives his life the Turtle Hermit way. Higher chance, yes, but he still wouldn't win. If Vegeta learned martial arts like Goku has, he would have a higher chance of winning if power wasn’t in the question. Similar to Goku's fight with Piccolo, his opponent's viciousness would put him down.but his unwillingness to give up would see him over the final hurdle. 18), whereas Goku has a seemingly endless reserve of stamina and unwillingness to give up, which Vegeta has noted before as being the reason Goku always outpaces him. Vegeta is more likely to tire himself out going all-out on an opponent (see: Piccolo's comment during Vegeta vs. I think it's going to come down to their character. So it's really a question of whether Vegeta's viciousness will outpace Goku's resourcefulness. However, Goku's resourcefulness typically pulls through when he's been outsmarted/outskilled (blinding Oozara Vegeta, using kaioken to threaten Ginyu rather than his base strength since Ginyu wouldn't really know the difference, taking advantage of Freeza not being able to sense ki on multiple occasions, and I personally think using the energy volley against Cell to show Gohan to not even attempt to use this move since it literally never works and solidifies your loss). Based on fighting skill alone, Goku would win - but as we saw with Raditz, it's possible to outsmart Goku in a fight. You're right that Vegeta is a brawler, whereas Goku is a martial artist. There's more to it than just fighting technique. Not saying Vegeta would win every time, just saying that your assertion that because Goku is a better fighter means he'd win every time might not be true. Goku has the better fighting technique, but his nature could be an impediment in an all-out fight with Vegeta. Vegeta's nature of not holding back is also less likely to land him in trouble. There's a decent chance that Vegeta didn't even need to go Oozaru after Goku severely damaged his own body blowing away Vegeta's Galick Gun, but he did anyway. Hell, even telling Goku that he'd blow the planet up if he moved out of the way of his Galick Gun (1st fight) FORCING Goku to use KKx4. ![]() Think to when he threw dirt in transformed Zarbon's face. Think to when he tricked Goku into pulling out the bag of sensu beans and bashed him on the skull. From a pure fighting standpoint, Goku is superior, but Vegeta is more the brawler and uses whatever tactics it takes (including fooling his opponents). While Vegeta isn't the martial artist that Goku is, he has certainly improved his fighting ability over the years of battles and training. ![]()
